Counseling for Highly Sensitive People
Could you be a highly sensitive person?
Do you “feel too deeply” or “feel too much”? Have you been told you are “shy” or “too sensitive”? Do you have the ability to “grasp” others’ energy at a level that is not easily understood by everyone else? Do you have a hard time watching the news because it hurts too much to see violence or suffering?
Being a highly sensitive person (HSP) may feel like a curse but it’s actually a superpower. Maybe no one has told you how special you are but I can help you understand how to harness your natural strengths.
Here is the good news: There is nothing “wrong with you!”
You have a higher emotional IQ than the average person which means you pick up on subtleties in conversations or changes in the environment around you. You are not weak or fragile, you are capable and strong!
Highly sensitive people experience the world differently than others.
As a result of a biological difference that they’re born with, highly sensitive people are more aware of subtleties and process information deeply. Furthermore, some of their strengths are that they are creative, insightful, and empathetic. It can also feel draining at times because HSP are more prone to higher levels of stress and becoming overwhelmed. There are better ways to protect your energy and not let others take so much from you.
I would love to help you navigate this amazing trait that you were born with and see how it applies to different areas of your life such as relationships, work, the way you relate to the world, and the way the world relates to you. Start making your sensitivity work for you instead of against you. It would be one of my greatest joys to watch you take back your power and realize how needed you are in this world.
